Smriti Mandhana’s tough outing in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 continued after a painful 20-ball 10 against Gujarat Giants on February 27 (Thursday). The left-hander got off the mark immediately off the first ball against Deandra Dottin but the rest of her stay at the crease was a painful watch.
RCB’s skipper couldn’t get going against Gujarat’s talented pacer Kashvee Gautam, who got the ball to seam away from the left-hander. Against the right-arm pacer, Mandhana failed to get any run off nine balls, struggling against the young pacer.
However, her troublesome stay at the crease came to an end in the last over of the powerplay, where she timed the ball straight into the hands of Harleen Deol. It was her slowest-ever knock in a T20 game, operating at a strike rate of just 50.
