WPL Pace Sensation Kranti Goud Makes Her India Women Debut In Tri-Series Final
Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bat first in the final of the ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka
The Indian women’s team won the toss and decided to bat first in the final of the Women’s ODI Tri-nation series against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The biggest surprise inclusion in the final was the Madhya Pradesh and UP Warriorz (UPW) pacer Kranti Goud, who replaced the injured Kashvee Gautam in the series.
Goud, who played the 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL) season as a net bowler, was one of the key picks in the auction by UPW for the 2025 season and impressed a lot of people in the season with her pace and tenacity. Goud, who was always naturally inclined towards pace bowling, picked up six wickets at an economy of 9.45 in the season.
Meanwhile, the Indian Women are coming into the final after winning all their matches but one. The defeat also came against Sri Lanka, and Harmanpreet Kaur would love to avenge that result in the all-important final.
Sri Lankan women are missing Kavisha Dilhari today as she is unwell. There are two other changes in the Lankan playing 11 from the last game, with Inoka Ranaweera and Piumi Wathsala replacing Manudi Nanayakkara and Inoshi Fernando.
