Earlier this year, one of Bengal’s most-experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha ruled himself out of the state’s quarter-final against Jharkhand. However, now the 37-year-old has agreed to represent Bengal in the all-important clash in Bengaluru, from June 6.
The squad sheet also the name of Mohammed Shami but the participation of the pacer has been subject to clearance from the BCCI. Saha, earlier ruled himself out, citing ‘personal reasons’ but now finds himself in the squad, against Jharkhand.
Mohammed Kaif, the younger brother of Shami, who impressed the selectors at the age-group level has been included in the squad for the important clash. Ankit Mishra, who too impressed at the U-25 level finds himself in the squad alongside spinners Shahbaz Ahmed and Pradipta Pramanik. Junior state minister Manoj Tiwary too features in the setup.
