Wriddhiman Saha was always an important asset for GT: Gary Kirsten

Gujarat Titans (GT) wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha played a match-winning 57-ball 67 as his side successfully chased down 134 in the last over against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Mumbai. 

GT mentor Gary Kirsten says that Saha has always been an important asset to the team. "He understands his game and plays really well in the powerplay. For us, he was always an important asset to have when we needed him, and he has come in and done really well," Kirsten said at the post-match press conference.

"I don’t think there is any specific (thing) that we need to say to him because he knows how to play the power play really well. The most important thing is that the guys play to their strengths and abilities. He is a great player of the short ball," he added.

GT were already guaranteed a place in the playoffs ahead of the match and have further consolidated their place at the top of the table. They are now guaranteed the top spot in IPL 2022. They take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their final group stage game on Thursday (May 19).
