South Africa's white-ball captain Temba Bavuma has been ruled out of their multi-format tour of England starting July 19 due to a wrist injury, Cricket South Africa confirmed on Wednesday.
David Miller will lead the side in the three T20Is against England from July 27-31 and the two T20Is against Ireland on August 3 and 5 at Bristol.
Spinner Keshav Maharaj has been named captain for the ODI series against England from July 19-24.
Bavuma, who injured his wrist while batting in the fourth T20I against India this month, will be sidelined for eight weeks.
Following the T20Is against Ireland, South Africa will face England in three Test starting with the first Test at Lord's from August 17-21.
The series will be a comeback for batter Rilee Rossouw, who hasn't played international cricket since October 2016 after signing Kolpak deal with Hampshire in 2017. Andile Phehlukwayo, who was not the squad for the tour of India and Aiden Makram, who missed the series due to COVID-19, will also return.
Young batter Tristan Stubbs, who made his debut against India, also kept his place in the T20I side.
Pacer Gerald Coetzee received his maiden international call-up for the T20I squad while pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada will sit out of the ODI series as part of his workload management.
