When Amanjot Kaur hit a straight drive off the bowling of Beth Mooney when India needed four more to get, a brilliant dive stopped the ball from racing away for a four. Jemimah Rodriguez, standing at the other end, was not letting the emotions run over her as she asked not only her mates in the dug out to stay calm, but also the entire crowd.
Once the winning runs were hit, another four by Amanjot, cut across the short third and backward point region, Jemimah’s tears could not be controlled, after all it was the biggest win in women’s cricket history in India.
They defeated the six-time world champions, by completing the highest-ever successful run chase in World Cup history (both men and women included). Not only was it the highest successful run chase, it was also the most number of runs scored in a Women’s World Cup match ever.

Chasing down 339 in a semi-final was not going to be an easy task by any means. Throughout the chase though, apart from the last few overs, India never seemed to be on top of the game, but never went out of the picture completely either.
After losing Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma early inside the first 10 overs, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodriguez added 167, the highest ever partnership in a knockout game ever for India. This eased the chase a bit as India were also helped with dropped catches.
