You have to keep one eye open as a coach: Dravid

The Head Coach of the Indian side was in attendance at the Chinnaswamy stadium to watch the home team take on Rajasthan Royals

Royal Challengers Bangalore edged past Rajasthan Royals in an afternoon encounter on Sunday, April 23, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While the fans thronged the stadium for this high-voltage clash, a notable member was in attendance as Rahul Dravid witnessed the action live in his home city.

In a video posted on the official IPL Twitter handle, the former skipper said, "It's a lot more relaxing to watch it this way than to watch it as a coach. Obviously, you are a lot more invested in the game as a coach, and you are analysing everything."

"Just lovely to come here, watch it and have some fun. The family is here as well, lovely stadium and good vibes, good atmosphere. Two teams that I have played for as well. So it's nice, once in a while, to watch a game of cricket without thinking about it too much."

While the coaches of the Indian team are on a break due to the Indian Premier League, Dravid stated that they are keeping a track of the performances of the Indian players in the tournament.

The team will lock horns against Australia in the summit clash of the World Test Championship in the first week of June and fine-tune their skills for the ODI World Cup later this year in India.

"Obviously, you have one eye as a fan, but you also have one eye as a coach is open. You are always looking to see how the boys are doing who are part of the white-ball setup for India."

"So some regular discussions among the coaches as well. When you see something happening, we always text and keep messaging each other about stuff. Good to see some of the young kids come and perform really well," he concluded.
