MS Dhoni has confirmed that he will be seen in yellow next season, but he is not sure if he will be playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Dhoni has been part of the CSK setup since the Indian Premier League's (IPL) inception in 2008, but had briefly moved on to Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) for a couple of years when CSK was banned.
"You'll see me in yellow next season but whether I'll be playing for CSK you never know. There are a lot of uncertainties coming up, two new teams are coming, we don't know what the retention rules are and so on," Dhoni said during the toss in Dubai, where CSK take on Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Dhoni has not been in the best of forms in IPL 2021, where he has scored just 84 runs from nine innings at a strike-rate of less than 100. However, CSK have made it to the playoffs this season, unlike last year, where they were the first team to crash out of the competition.
Dhoni has scored 4,142 runs for CSK in 188 IPL matches. Only Suresh Raina with 4,687 runs has scored more runs for the franchise in the tournament.
