Yuvraj Singh Advises Indian Women’s Team On How To Win ODI World Cup

Yuvraj, who had won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup, told the players to believe in their experience

Double World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh was present in the function where the 2025 ODI Women’s World Cup Trophy was being unveiled in Mumbai, and he had some words of wisdom to offer to the Indian women’s team, who are looking to win their first-ever World Cup.

“(I would say) play the situation and not the expectation and be in the moment," Yuvraj advised.

“It’s a great opportunity to create history. But that doesn’t mean that from the start point you are thinking of winning it. You have to experience the whole enigma of it. You have to feel that you have put in the process, and results will come."

Yuvraj, who had won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup, told the players to believe in their experience.

“But if you want to win the World Cup, you will be in pressure, things won’t go well and that’s when experience and self-belief have to take over. You have to believe that you want to win the game for your country (on) that day,” Yuvraj said.

The Women’s ODI World Cup will begin from September 30 and will go on till November 2, with the games being held in Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Vizag and Colombo. ICC Chairman Jay Shah and former Indian skipper Mithali Raj were also present at the trophy unveiling ceremony in Mumbai.
