Yuzvendra Chahal Hails Kuldeep Yadav As The No.1 Wrist Spinner In The World
Chahal last played for India in 2023, as Kuldeep was preferred ahead of him
Yuzvendra Chahal might be out of contention for a place in the Indian white-ball set-up, but has hailed Kuldeep Yadav as the No.1 wrist spinner in the world. Chahal, a wrist spinner himself, has not played for India since August 2023.
The duo have won plenty of matches for India in white-ball cricket, but Kuldeep has been preferred ahead of Chahal for some time now.
"I don’t think about what is not in my hands," Chahal said in an interview when asked about his India comeback.
"Right now, he [Kuldeep] is the No.1 wrist spinner in the world. It shows in the way he is bowling both in IPL and international cricket."
Chahal also acknowledged that he and Kuldeep always shared a great bond.
"I have loved bowling with Kuldeep. We enjoy great bonding on and off the field. It shows. It was fun bowling with him because we have a similar approach to bowling. Both of us love to attack," Chahal, who is the only bowler with over 200 IPL wickets, said.
"It was also partnership bowling. When one of us would go for runs, the other would make it tighter from the other end. We always trusted each other," said Chahal.
The two world-class bowlers will be in action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. While Chahal will turn up for Punjab Kings (PBKS), Kuldeep will play for Delhi Capitals (DC)
