Zimbabwe pick Alistair Campbell's son for Bangladesh T20Is

Tadiwanashe Marumani and Faraz Akram have also been recalled for the five-match series

The son of former Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell, Jonathan Campbell has been picked for the national side for the five-match T20I series against Bangladesh, starting on May 3.

The 26-year-old leg-spin bowling all-rounder played a key role in Zimbabwe’s emerging team winning the gold medal at the 13th African Games in March 2024. Jonathan scored 115 runs across four innings at a strike rate of 126.37. He only bowled two overs and picked up a wicket.

Senior players Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, Ryan Burl, Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani are all part of the squad. Meanwhile, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Milton Shumba, Carl Mumba and Tony Munyonga are the ones to miss out.

The first three T20Is will be played in Chattogram on May 3, 5 and 7 before the action shifts to Dhaka for the final two games (May 10 and 12).
