Zimbabwe will tour Sri Lanka for a three-match One-Day International series in January 2022, Sri Lanka Cricket announced on Tuesday (December 28).
The series will be played behind closed doors at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The three games will be played on January 16, 18 and 21.
This series will also be Mahela Jayawardene's first assignment after being appointed as Sri Lanka's "consultant coach" across formats.
The two-match Test series against West Indies was Mickey Arthur's last assignment as Sri Lanka's head coach. Following Arthur's departure, Jayawardene was appointed as the "consultant coach" for one year, effective January 1, 2022.
Once Sri Lanka are done with Zimbabwe, they will travel to Australia for a five-match T20I series in February before travelling to India for two Tests and three T20Is.
