Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh, Third T20I: Fantasy Preview

Here are a few tips that might help you in creating your fantasy team for the third T20I between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in Harare

After losing the one-off Test and cleaned up 3-0 in the ODI series, host Zimbabwe have the chance to win the T20I series against Bangladesh when they face off the decider on Sunday at the Harare Sports Club. After being beaten soundly by eight wickets in the first match, the hosts defended a total of 166 to level the series 1-1.

HEAD TO HEAD

Overall: Matches – 15 | ZIM – 5 wins | BAN – 10 wins

Last five matches: ZIM – 1 win | BAN – 4 wins

SUGGESTED TEAM

While you could go for the above team, you also have the option of choosing your own team from Cricket.com’s Fantasy Research Centre. Based on algorithms, we have come up with one team

GROUND DETAILS

The Harare Sports Club has seen 15 T20 matches since 2019. On an average, teams have scored 146 runs in the first innings and teams batting first have won 11 out of the 15 matches with one no result.

The pacers have had the wood over spinners in terms of wickets as they have bagged 58.3 percent of wickets as compared to 38.4 percent by spinners. But, when it comes to picking wickets early, there isn’t a huge gap. Spinners have bagged wickets at a strike rate of 19.7 as compared to 18. by pacers. Economically, spinners (6.9) have been way better than the pacers (7.5).

SUGGESTED CAPTAIN

Zimbabwe opener Wesely Madhevere is currently the leading run scorer in the T20I series as his 73 in the second ODI propelled the hosts to a defendable total. The 20-year old is the danger man for Bangladesh if they are bowling first and will need to get his wicket early if they need to restrict Zimbabwe to a low total.

Our Criclytics player projections predicts, Madhevere could score 30-46 runs in the third T20I

X-FACTOR

He might haven’t made a big name for himself, but Mohammad Naim silently has been piling on runs. In T20Is since 2020, Naim has scored 228 runs at average of 32.51, which is the most for Bangladesh in this time period. In the first T20I, Naim and Sarkar stitched a 102-run partnership for the first wicket that laid the platform where scored an unbeaten 63 to take Bangladesh over the line.

Our Criclytics player projections predicts, Naim could score 18-28 runs in the third T20I

He might have failed to pick up a wicket in the first T20I, but Luke Jongwe is in the top-10 of leading wicket-takers in T20Is this year and the leader of Zimbabwe's bowling department. No other Zimbabwe bowler has bagged as many wickets as him in this calendar year. All his wickets came in his last series against Pakistan. On the back of good form Jongwe is a certain X-factor.

Our Criclytics player projections predicts, Jongwe could claim 1-2 wickets in the third T20I

Shoriful Islam is the leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh in the T20Is with 7 wickets from five innings and Bangladesh's best bowler in the second match with figures 3-33. He will be expected to put Bangladesh in a strong position in the decider.

Our Criclytics player projections predicts, Shoriful could claim 2-3 wickets in the third T20I
