That is it from this game. It was an entertaining game as there was even competition between the bat and ball. The team who batted well and bowled well won. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. We hope to get your company for future games too. Till then cheers and take care.
Time for the presentations. Some good performances with both bat as well as the ball we have seen. Who will get the Player of the Match award? Lets find out. Laura Harris is named as the Player of the Match for her 17-ball 41.
At the halfway stage of the match it felt like Brisbane have fallen short by 15 runs or so but in the end, it proved to be the difference for their victory. As it is said that you never rule out the possibility of a win till the last ball is bowled and here too it turned out to be the right thing. After Adelaide openers stitched a 57 run opening stand, Brisbane looked down and out but Grace Harris came to the fore as she helped Brisbane get an opening into the Adelaide batting line up. Nicole Hancock and Courtney Sippel began on the right note with the ball as Nadine de Klerk continued from there. Their skipper, Jess Jonassen and their New Zealand recruit Amelia Kerr too did a decent job with the ball in hand. The stand out performer for them with the ball was Grace Harris as she ended with 4 wickets with bowling figures of 3-0-16-4!
Chasing a total of 137, Adelaide looked set to win it with ease after their openers gave them a good start as they stitched a 57-run stand. Just when it looked that Adelaide were cruising towards the total, Katie Mack fell against the run of play. Soon there was a procession towards the Adelaide dugout as wickets kept on tumbling. Increasing run rate meant that batters were forced to call their shots and that resulted in them losing wickets. Till the time Tahlia McGrath was there in the middle, Adelaide were hoping for a win but once she departed, Strikers' hopes too vanquished. Tahlia was the lone warrior for them as she made a well fought 52 but lack of support from the other end meant that she had lot of work to do and in the end, it proved too much a total for Heat.
A brilliant game of cricket. With each passing year, the women's cricket is evolving and we have seen that in Women's Big Bash League for the umpteenth time now.
