3 days, 3 double headers. All teams have played 2 matches each. Trinbago Knight Riders jump to the top of the points table. We deservedly need a break but shall be back in a day. The action resumes on Saturday, 22nd August, 2020 from 10 am local (1400 GMT) as the Patriots take on the Zouks, followed by the Warriors-Tallawahs clash. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Kieron Pollard is mighty pleased. Is happy with the way the opening bowlers set the tone and then the spinners following it up. Praises his bowlers for restricting the Tallawahs to 135. On Jayden Seales, Pollard says that he is young and they are trying to protect him. Stresses that he did not want to give him the death overs but just gave here to check how he does in pressure situations. Further says that he was not to be given the new ball either but seeing Ali Khan swing the ball, Polly thought to try Seales out. On Sunil Narine's innings, KP is proud of the way he continues to be important for the side but stresses on Munro's knock as well, not throwing his wicket and sticking till the end to complete the job.
Jamaica Tallawahs skipper, Rovman Powell, feels that losing early wickets while batting has been their problem of low scores. Wants his side to arrest that. Says that the wicket was a bit sticky. On a possible injury to Andre Russell, Powell says that he is fine. Rues the fielding and catching lapses but insists that the self-belief is still there.
Awaiting the captains now...
SUNIL NARINE HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. On being asked about finding form immediately after lockdown, Narine says that this is just the start of the tournament. So he wants to build on this and try and do well for long. On being asked about possible revival memories of the 2018 season, Narine hopes it turns out to be that way. Admits that they are missing the fans and it is they who drive the players.
Earlier, in the first innings, a disciplined bowling performance from the Trinbago Knight Riders kept the Tallawahs to a modest 135. Only Glenn Phillips played an innings of substance. Surprisingly, in a game hit by wet ball, wet ground and dew, the spinners made merry. Narine, Fawad, Mujeeb and Lamichhane had combined figures of 15-1-80-4 across both innings.
The Tallawahs were in the game for just the 4 overs. There were a couple of chances put down but don't think they would have mattered. Questions to Rovman Powell on the decision to give Ramaal Lewis the 5th over, which changed the momentum. Edwards and Mujeeb were exemplary.
The start was good by the Tallawahs though. Fidel Edwards found some swing and kept the Knight Riders quiet. Lendl Simmons departed as well but after that, it was the Sunil Narine show. His 53 from 38 balls allowed Munro to bide his time and find his feet, in a stand of 75. The Kiwi then took over later on, opening his shoulders, staying unbeaten on 49.
A one-sided game. In a ground hit by rain, you could possibly imagine Kieron Pollard winning the game at the toss itself. With the dew settling in, it became almost impossible for the bowlers to do well in the night.

Carlos Brathwaite to Kieron Pollard ,WIDE. An extra to end the game! A bumper, down the leg side, Pollard ducks and the umpire has wided it. TRINBAGO KNIGHT RIDERS WIN BY 7 WICKETS AND 11 BALLS TO SPARE!

Mujeeb Ur Rahman to Darren Bravo ,OUT! CAUGHT! Collision, confusion but eventually taken! Well, Mujeeb and Phillips are smiling now, but this could have been messy. Full and outside off, Bravo looks to play the slog sweep but gets a top edge. The ball goes to the leg side and both, keeper Glenn Phillips and bowler Mujeeb go for it. Phillips has his eyes set on the ball and dives but Mujeeb too, keeps his eyes on the ball. Catches it cleanly, just about averting the collision. Importance of communication in the field. Little Bravo plays an innings of little significance.

Sandeep Lamichhane to Colin Munro ,DROPPED! It is Carlos Brathwaite again! Two put down in the span of 5 balls. Full and around leg, Munro gets down to play the slog sweep but this is the longer part of the ground. Does not have enough distance on it, does the ball and goes towards Brathwaite. One bounce and into the third man fence.

Fidel Edwards to Lendl Simmons ,OUT! CAUGHT! The first one is down early for the Knight Riders. Simmons got done in by pace by the looks of it. A length ball, outside off, Lendl looks to pull but the ball skids off the deck. As a result, the bat stays in a horizontal position when the ball makes contact. A top edge is induced and the ball goes towards mid off. Carlos Brathwaite slips there but recovers in time to take the catch. Edwards is pumped up.

Fidel Edwards to Lendl Simmons ,Interesting footwork. Simmons charges out first ball, then walks across and plays this outswinging full toss towards cover.
The umpires are slowly making their way out to the middle. The roping of the outfield is still being done, to get rid of the dampness. The Tallawahs get into a really long huddle. Now, come the Trinbago openers, Lendl Simmons and Sunil Narine. Dre Russ is already into the ears of Narine, sledging him and there is a banter going on. Fidel Edwards comes charging up with the ball. Simmons to face.

Modest lad, aye? 136 to win for his team. Should not be much of a problem for a side with the likes of Simmons, Narine, Munro, Bravos, Pollard and Seifert. Jeez, that is way too many! Stay tuned...
Jayden Seales is giving an interview. He is happy with his outing tonight. On not showing any nerves, Seales says that he was just looking to enjoy himself. Admits that the ball did get wet initially but once it was changed, it got easier for him. On his family watching him, Jayden says that they are extremely proud of him, watching him now on television. On the advice given to him by his father, he says that the senior Seales just asks him to be consistent in what he is doing and work hard.
The pitch looks a bit two-paced but thanks to the wet outfield, the bowlers will find it tough to bowl. The Knight Riders were excellent even with the wet ball. Can the Tallawahs match that and make this a decent contest?
The bowlers set the tone right at the start, with Ali Khan and Jayden Seales keeping it very tight. Then the duo of Sunil Narine and Fawad Ahmed tightened the noose in the middle overs, which meant that the Tallawahs never really got going. There was a little bit of an attack from Phillips in the 13th over but nothing much after that.
A moderate score at best. Glenn Phillips was the highlight of the innings, staging decent partnerships with Asif Ali and Andre Russell but once the Kiwi got out, there was never that final push. The Knight Riders will be very happy.

It is referred upstairs and replays show that Lewis had crossed Edwards when the run out was effected.

Jayden Seales to Glenn Phillips ,FOUR! Losing his radar here, is Seales. A slightly wet ball, due to it travelling on the outfield and he slips this down the leg side. Does not even land it. Phillips walks across a touch and flicks it through square leg.

Jayden Seales to Glenn Phillips ,FOUR! Is that the shot which could get him going? On a good length outside off, Phillips stands his ground and punches it through the covers for a boundary. Excellent hand-eye co-ordination.
Ian Bishop on air is very much impressed with the bowling of Jayden Seales. Compares his action to that South African speedster, Lungi Ngidi.

Ali Khan to Rovman Powell ,OUT! CAUGHT! DJ BRAVO... DJ BRAVO... get the music started. What a catch. Unbelievable. Ali Khan has two in 2 overs. A length ball, outside off, Powell looks to pull. But just like Walton, Powell too, was caught in no man's land due to the skiddiness off the surface. Ends up getting it off the toe end of the bat towards mid on. It seems like it will fall short of the fielder but Dwayne Bravo there charges forward, dives and takes it with excellent athleticism. The Tallawahs are in a heap of trouble.

Jayden Seales to Rovman Powell ,BEATEN! Huge appeal for a caught behind as well, but not given. On a length, outside off, Powell looks to defend but the ball straightens and squares him up. Replays show that the ball misses everything.

Jayden Seales to Rovman Powell ,What? What kind of a shot was that? A length ball, outside off, Powell tries an ungainly pull. It ends up being a poor shot and the ball lobs off the toe end of the bat. But lobs over mid on! Two runs taken.

Jayden Seales to Nicholas Kirton ,OUT! LBW! Now, now, now, young Kirton might be unlucky. A terrific ball, no doubt, but was that too high? A length ball, perhaps pitching around middle and then seaming back in sharply. Kirton looks to flick but is caught off guard by the sharp movement. Is hit on the pads and up goes the appeal. Just as we think it might be too high, the umpire raises his finger towards the sky! Nicholas looks at his partner and then at the area where the ball landed. Tough luck. Welcome to cricket.
Jayden Seales to bowl from the other end.

Ali Khan to Glenn Phillips ,BEATEN! How do you play that? Phillips has a big smile on his face. Back of a length outside off, Glenn looks to force this through the line but the ball shapes back in a long way and cuts him into half.

Ali Khan to Chadwick Walton ,OUT! CAUGHT! He does it so often, Ali Khan! A wicket with the new ball. An El dorado celebration follows. A length ball, around middle, Walton looks to flick but the ball skids off the deck. Perhaps due to the lights. Hence, a top edge is induced which goes high in the air. Fawad Ahmed runs back to his left a touch and takes it calmly at short fine leg. A duck for Walton!

Ali Khan to Chadwick Walton ,On a length, around off, punched towards cover.
The home side punches its fists and elbows spreads out onto the field. It is followed by the opening pair for the Tallawahs - Chadwick Walton and Glenn Phillips. Ali Khan of the USA will bowl the first over. Walton to face. Deep square leg and third man - the two men outside the 30-yard circle. Here we go!
PITCH REPORT - Danny Morrison doing the pitch report says that in spite of 6 matches on this deck, the pitch looks a batting beauty.
Jamaica Tallawahs (Playing XI) - Chadwick Walton(WK), Glenn Phillips, Nicholas Kirton, Rovman Powell(C), Asif Ali, Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Ramaal Lewis (IN FOR VEERSAMMY PERMAUL), Sandeep Lamichhane, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Fidel Edwards (IN FOR OSHANE THOMAS).
Jamaica Tallawahs skipper, Rovman Powell, is happy. Because he believes that to win, you need to bat and bowl well. Informs that they have thought long and hard about the team strategy, hence, Ramaal Lewis comes in for Veersammy Permaul, making it a left-arm spinner for a left-arm spinner while Oshane Thomas misses out for Fidel Edwards as the latter knows these conditions. Praises Asif Ali for adjusting to the pitch in their previous game.
Trinbago Knight Riders (Playing XI) - Lendl Simmons, Sunil Narine, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard (C), Tim Seifert(WK), Dwayne Bravo, Khary Pierre (IN FOR SIKANDAR RAZA), Jayden Seales, Ali Khan and Fawad Ahmed.
Trinbago Knight Riders captain, Kieron Pollard says that he would have ideally batted on this pitch but the rain and outfield have played a part in his decision. Believes that there is always room for improvement. For instance, he says that they should have won the previous game with a couple of overs to spare. Informs that Sikandar Raza misses out for Khary Pierre, stressing it as a tactical change.
TOSS - TRINBAGO KNIGHT RIDERS HAVE WON THE TOSS AND ELECTED TO CHASE.
WEATHER - The weather seems to have cleared up a touch but there remains the threat of rain.
Hoo hoo! We are about to get underway! This is a powerhouse clash between two giants. Trinbago Knight Riders play host to Jamaica Tallawahs in game number 6, with both teams having won their first game.
