Right. That ends the action from Sunday and we have a day's break. The action resumes from Tuesday, with Trinbago Knight Riders taking on Jamaica Tallawahs at 10 am local (1400 GMT), followed by the Barbados Tridents-Guyana Amazon Warriors clash at 5:30 pm. Join us on 1st September, 2020. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Sayonara, Port Of Spain! That ends the CPL action over there. We now move back to Tarouba for the final piece of action in this tournament. A bizarre Sunday, which first saw the lowest ever total in the CPL getting defended - 92 and then, that was followed by a blazing century in 45 balls - the third fastest in the history of the tournament. Guyana have hopped over to third place now, thanks to this big win, with 3 wins from 7 games. The Patriots are looking on their way out, with just 1 win from 7 matches.
Victorious Guyana Amazon Warriors captain, Chris Green, feels that it is a big win. Lauds praises on Nicholas Pooran and Ross Taylor for playing the way they did but also admits that his bowlers probably gave 20 runs extra. On swapping Pooran and Taylor in the batting orders, Green feels that the plan was to have experience down the order and form higher and it worked. Praises the young Kevin Sinclair for showing the right attitude and is extremely excited for the kid, especially to get a win on debut. Laughs on being asked about the somersault celebration and says that he is extremely energetic while training and keeps jumping up and down. On finding the recipe for a win, Chris says that they have been talking about peaking and this is the right moment. Observes that they have a day's break and then have three successive games, so wants to seal their fate as soon as they can.
St Kitts And Nevis Patriots skipper, Rayad Emrit, rates that his team's batting performance was one of its best. Feels great to see guys putting their hands up in times of trouble. Puts this loss down to a special innings of Nicholas Pooran, who made the pitch look like a batting paradise. Sees plenty of positives in this defeat, for example, getting to 150 from a weak position and the batting at the death which shows their potential to get big scores.
NICHOLAS POORAN HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Thanks the almighty for giving him strength and courage. Thanks his parents and also his trainer, who has worked on his fitness in the last 5 months. Is happy with this success after a lot of hard work. Admits that it has been a tough tournament for every batsman in his team and hopes that this innings is a stepping stone for a turnaround. On his partnership with Ross Taylor, Pooran says that they were just looking to build a stand and things just flowed through. Credits Rosco for his experience. On his promotion to number 4, Nicholas says that it is something that he has wanted to do, bat up the order. On finishing off the game with three sixes and getting the century, Pooran says that the century was not actually in his mind, but when he hit the second six, he thought he can get the ton. However, he is looking at the bigger picture with the win. Wants to send a message to all the Guyana fans to stay positive.
Hard to understand the feelings of the Patriots. They might put it down to an amazing innings but they were on top at the halfway stage. However, their spinners did not get the wickets they wanted. Imran Khan began with a maiden but then Pooran carted him around and he disappeared. Jaggesar was okay while Sodhi was disappointing. Earlier, the Patriots recovered nicely through Joshua Da Silva and Denesh Ramdin, reaching 150, from 51/3. Please stay tuned for the presentation...
Nicholas Pooran took his time early on, biding his time, judging the wicket. And then came the Imran Khan over. It was the one immediatey after the DRINKS BREAK, the 11th. Pooran pounced onto him and carted him for 18 runs and the momentum shifted. After that, Nicholas went into overdrive, in a beastly unstoppable mode. Ross Taylor played it smartly, just rotating the strike here and there. In an unbeaten stand of 128 in 71 balls, Rosco made just 25! That is experience. It is very difficult to hold yourself back when your partner is going on so well at the other end but Taylor played his part to perfection. Pooran clobbered 10 sixes and 4 fours while smart Rosco hit just a solitary biggie.
It all started on a similar note for Guyana, as has been throughout the season. 20/1, 24/2 and then 25/3. With 126 needed at around 9 an over, the writing was on the wall. And then, in walked Nicholas Pooran and Ross Taylor. But it was all about Pooran, really.

Only Andre Russell has scored it in lesser balls. Take a bow, Nicholas Pooran. The Warriors have sounded a warning to other teams that they have the batting arsenal.

DRINKS BREAK. Interestingly poised. If you look at the match situation, Guyana need 92 from 60 balls and on this pitch it is game over for them. But if we tell you that at the same stage, the Patriots were 52/3, the fans for the Warriors will get some hope. Someone amongst these two, has to play the innings which Joshua Da Silva did for the St Kitts. The Taylor-Pooran stand is looking in good shape, getting to 34 from 26 balls and the pacing has been nice too. The runs are slowly starting to come as well. Patriots will bank on their spinners in the middle overs. Ish Sodhi is yet to come on to bowl while Imran Khan and Jon-Russ Jaggesar have 4 overs left combined. So that means, 8 potential overs of spin out of the 10 remaining.

Alzarri Joseph to Brandon King ,Outside off, pushed straight to cover.
Different tactics from both teams. Guyana opted for spin from both ends while St Kitts have opted for pace from each end. Alzarri Joseph gets the ball while Sohail Tanvir goes off the ground, for a little tape on his finger.

Alzarri Joseph to Brandon King ,FOUR! Off the inside edge! A yorker, outside off, King looks to jam it out and luckily for him, the ball catches the bat. It takes the inside edge and scoots past leg stump and short fine leg for a boundary! For some reason, Joseph was appealing for LBW.

Sohail Tanvir to Kevin Sinclair ,DROPPED! Fortunate for the batsman, fortunate for the bowler. The batsman gets a life and so does the bowler. That could have been injurious. Full and around middle, Sinclair hammers this straight back. Tanvir tries to catch it, but the ball is to his wrong side, the right. He is unable to adjust and the ball bursts through his fingers.

The players are back out in the middle. The Patriots get into a huddle. Out walk the Guyanese openers - Brandon King and Kevin Sinclair. The all-rounder. Opened the bowling a few hours earlier and now, he is opening the batting. Sohail Tanvir will open the bowling for the Patriots. King to face. Here we go! 151 needed in 120 balls.

Sohail Tanvir to Brandon King ,Off the mark immediately. Full and around middle, King flicks it behind square leg and gets a couple. 149 more needed in 119 balls.
The Patriots would be confident with this total. On a track where 125 is the average first-inning total this season, they have got 25 extra. The Warriors have not been in good batting form but this is a great opportunity. Also, they will believe that if St Kitts could score so many, so can we. Stay tuned for the run chase.
A very unlike-Patriots bowling by the Patriots. They were on top for the first half but then they let their foot loose. The biggest aspect was that Imran Tahir went wicketless, which significantly affected their death bowling. The last 2 overs went for 24 and that could haunt them later on. Earlier, debutant Kevin Sinclair bowled his heart out, in a spell of 4-0-9-1. Only three overs of pace were used, resulting in 41 runs and just a solitary wicket.
Joshua Da Silva is giving an interview. He is happy that he could fulfill the anchor role for his side. Was looking to get some boundaries as well and he could. On him panting, Joshua says that there was no wind blowing and it is extremely humid. Hence, the reason. On him taking deep breaths, Da Silva says that is the way he regains focus. Says that his family is happy watching him play on TV. Thanks Denesh Ramdin for all the advice he gave. On the advice to his bowlers, Joshua tells them to bowl in the right areas and advices his fielders not to drop catches.

What a comeback by the Patriots. Has the pitch started behaving better? From 51/3 in 9.4 overs to 150/5 after 20. That is 99/2 in 10.2 overs, close to 10 an over. Stupendous batting from two people - first, Joshua Da Silva, for batting till the 18th over. He began slowly but then accelerated after crossing 30. Secondly, Denesh Ramdin, First, he aided Joshua in a 68-run stand, giving him all the strike on offer. Ramdin scored just 18 in that partnership. Then, once Joshua got out, Ramdin came to the party, taking the score to 150.

DRINKS BREAK. After seeing what happened in the first game, hard to say who is on top. The Patriots might be seemingly batting slowly but remember, the Warriors have to bat last on this pitch which is already looking slow. None of the batsmen have been able to get their timing right but crucially, they are batting well. Meaning to say, they have curbed their attacking strokes post the Powerplay and have not thrown it away. They are working their way through ones and twos and understand that this type of cricket is essential for keeping wickets in hand, which will in turn, aid them for a final flourish. The Warriors need to continue picking up wickets and restrict them to under 110.

Johan Botha is on the sidelines, coach of the Amazon Warriors. Is amazed at the energy of the young Kevin Sinclair. Believes that his action is his own and he has not copied it from Botha. On the batting not firing as compared to last year, Botha says that there has not been the advantage of home pitches, nor have the guys played lot of cricket. However, he does not want to give excuses and believes that they need to find a way in the remaining 4 games. On his team not giving up, he praises the entire unit for keeping on fighting. Lauds Chris Green's captaincy skills and the fielding, but now wants his batsmen to step up. On the previous game, where 92 was defended, Johan says that this game continues to show that you cannot take anything for granted. But says that they respect the Tridents, whom they face twice in the next three games. Ends by saying that Kevin Sinclair is very fit, probably was a gymnast in his early days and it is great to see young and fit guys in the squad.
Imran Tahir is on.

Kevin Sinclair to Evin Lewis ,Fired down the leg side, Lewis misses his flick and the ball goes off his pads towards fine leg. The keeper yells his throat out for LBW but that was hitting the 6th stump. A single taken towards fine leg.
Joshua Da Silva walks in at number 3, replacing Powell. He will hope to make an impact in his home ground. Kevin Sinclair has been given the new ball. A right-arm off spinner.

Chris Green to Kieran Powell ,OUT! BOWLED! Patriots in trouble already. The middle stump is out of the ground. Finally he bowls one of the stumps, after straying on the pads for most deliveries. Powell stays back to try and defend but the ball skids through, beats his defenses and knocks off the middle stump. Green is pumped up. An average opening over but he ends well.

Chris Green to Evin Lewis ,A short ball, around middle, Lewis turns it behind square on the leg side and comes back for the second. Looks to be moving relatively nicely on his feet at the movement.
It has gotten a bit overcast and we do hope that we do not have inclement weather. It is raining in East Trinidad right now and we hope that it fizzes out before it reaches here in the south. The umpires make their way out to the middle. The Warriors are joking and laughing around in a huddle. Now, the Patriots' batsmen come out to open. Two southpaws - Evin Lewis and Kieran Powell. Chris Green himself will open the bowling for the Warriors. Lewis to face. Here we go...
Guyana Amazon Warriors (Playing XI) - Brandon King, Kevin Sinclair (IN FOR CHANDRAPAUL HEMRAJ), Shimron Hetmyer, Ross Taylor, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Keemo Paul, Chris Green (C), Romario Shepherd, Naveen-ul-Haq, Imran Tahir and Ashmead Nedd (IN FOR SHERFANE RUTHERFORD).
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (Playing XI) - Evin Lewis, Kieran Powell, Joshua Da Silva (IN FOR CHRIS LYNN), Denesh Ramdin (WK), Ben Dunk, Sohail Tanvir (IN FOR NICK KELLY), Rayad Emrit (C), Ish Sodhi, Imran Khan, Alzarri Joseph (IN FOR SHELDON COTTRELL) and Jon-Russ Jaggesar.
PITCH REPORT - Danny Morrison says that the average first innings total at this season is just 125. Reckons that batting first is the way to win.
St Kitts And Nevis Patriots' captain, Rayad Emrit, says that he was looking to bat first anyway as the pitch will deteriorate. Believes that there will be less pressure on the batsmen and would love to have them firing. On the million-dollar question revolving around Evin Lewis' fitness, Emrit says that Lewis is fit and playing. Informs that Chris Lynn, Nick Kelly and Sheldon Cottrell are out, to be replaced by Sohail Tanvir and Joshua da Silva. Forgets the other change. Informs that these changes are tactical except for Cottrell, who has been left out because of a slight niggle. Then he remembers that Alzarri Joseph replaces him.
Guyana Amazon Warriors' skipper, Chris Green, says that he saw the previous game but his team is more suited to the conditions of chasing. Informs that they are going in with two youngsters for this game and is excited to have Ashmead Nedd back. Adds that the other change is Kevin Sinclair coming in. The ones going out are Sherfane Rutherford and Chandrapaul Hemraj. On the batting not firing, Chris says that there have been plenty of discussions but they are clear in their minds and are looking forward to the challenges.
TOSS - Time for the spin of the coin. Rayad Emrit flips it, HEADS is the call from Chris Green and it is a HEAD. GUYANA AMAZON WARRIORS WILL BOWL FIRST.
WEATHER - There were a few clouds appearing during the finishing part of the previous game but the sun is shining brightly now. No rain is forecast and we hope that it stays that way.
Hola! Welcome back. Recovered? Yesterday, we asked you the same question after Kieron Pollard's blitz. Today, we ask you after a mind-boggling game where 92 was defended. How will that have an impact on this game? Will both sides pack themselves with spinners? Guyana anyway are loaded with tweakers. Hello and a warm welcome to match 20 of the Caribbean Premier League, 2020 and the last one to be played at Port Of Spain in this edition. Guyana Amazon Warriors meet St Kitts And Nevis Patriots.
