Sohail Akhtar, the skipper of Lahore Qalandars, says that he was happy with their bowling and they did not allow United to bat freely. On spin playing an important role, he adds that they have good spinners on the bench and they will assess the conditions and pick their best eleven.

In the first game, Karachi Kings will take on Multan Sultans at 1700 local (1300 GMT). The second game will be between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi and that game will be at 2000 local (1600 GMT) Do join us for that. Till then, stay safe and goodbye!
Rashid Khan is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH, says that he had a belief that he could score runs in the last over. Adds that he has the responsibility of being the lone spinner for the team but he is also enjoying the challenge.
Shadab Khan, the captain of Islamabad United, says that he kept one over for himself, but there was dew and so he handed the ball to Talat in the final over but says that he believes in Talat and if another situation like this arises further on, he would hand the ball to Talat, without thinking a lot. Feels that cricketing shots need to be played well and with dew coming in later in the game, batting might get easier. Says that their bowling and fielding were good and he is happy with their effort.
Earlier in the game, James Faulkner rocked the top order of Islamabad United and they could never recover from that. They lost wickets at regular intervals but a decent knock by Faheem Ashraf helped them cross 140. A total, which could have been enough if the last over would have gone Islamabad United's way.
The Islamabad United bowlers gave a tough fight with the ball. The target wasn't a big one, but they bowled with all their might to almost win the game. Hasan Ali was the pick of the bowlers and took two big wickets at the key moments. Fawad Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan did well to pick up one wicket each and kept their team in the hunt. They had 16 runs to defend in the final over and this is where things changed, Shadab Khan handed the ball to Hussain Talat. Talat hadn't bowled a single over before this and was taken apart by Rashid Khan to take the game away from them. Islamabad United bowlers would take heart from the way they bowled.
Fakhar Zaman started the chase in a stunning fashion with a couple of boundaries but he could not carry on. His wicket, followed by the one of Muhammad Faizan put Lahore Qalandars on the back foot. But then, Sohail Akhtar and Professor Mohammad Hafeez stitched a good partnership and eased things down a bit. But the game of cricket is a funny one, as both the set batters fell just when they were set. Then came the trio of Ben Dunk, Tim David and Rashid Khan. Firstly, Ben Dunk struggled a bit but got a few key boundaries to keep them in the hunt. Then, Tim David was really good and scored boundaries at the right time to relieve the pressure and then superstar Rashid Khan came on and smashed Hussain Talat in the final over to seal the game. They would be happy to get the points, but would want to do better with the bat in the following games.
Welcome back PSL! What a game we have witnessed! It went right down to the wire and in the end, Lahore Qalandars have emerged as the winners. It was a disappointing day with the bat for Islamabad United, but they pulled things back nicely with the ball, but it wasn't enough.

Hussain Talat to Rashid Khan ,HAT-TRICK OF FOURS NOW! Rashid Khan has done a top job here and now, Lahore Qalandars need just 4 from 3 balls. A length ball, again slower, again there is width offered outside off, Rashid Khan swings his blade at this and the ball takes the outside edge and goes past short third man for a boundary.

Hasan Ali to Tim David ,SIX! Nopes, he cannot! A good over but the last ball ruins it for United and Ali! A good length ball around off, in the slot too and Tim David gets underneath the ball and whacks this one over the bowler's head for a biggie. 16 needed off the final 6 balls!

Hasan Ali to Tim David ,ANOTHER DOT! Very full around off, David only manages to find the cover fielder with his push. Can Hasan Ali finish the over well?
