Right. That ends the first game of the day. But do not go anywhere. The second game is coming up soon, with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at 10 pm local (1800 GMT).
Victorious Multan Sultans captain, MOHAMMAD RIZWAN, says that toss is not in anyone's factor, so no point thinking about how to defend if you cannot control whether you would be chasing or defending. States that every team is prepared for every occasion at this level. Believes that the pitch supported seamers and spinners equally and hence, the combination of 4 fasters and one tweaker suited them for this game, but he adds that for future, they will take a call after looking at the pitch.
RILEE ROSSOUW HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. Says that the team's gameplan was to play brave cricket and it paid off for him.
Karachi Kings skipper, Imad Wasim, puts the slow start in the Powerplay with the bat as the reason for the loss. About shuffling the batting for the next match, Wasim shunts it off, saying that there will be a team meeting but there is no harm in losing, if the manner of playing is hard. Admits that the wicket looked very impressive and given the start Multan had, he would take a score of 176 but bemoans a sluggish Powerplay with the bat.
... THE PRESENTATION ...
Mohammad Rizwan would be very happy. Leave aside the collapse in the middle during the 11th over of the first innings, they had a pretty decent outing with the bat and ball. Every bowler bowled well and even though Shahnawaz Dhani went for runs, it was in the last few balls of his spell. He would have had Chadwick Walton but for Sohaib Maqsood who shelled a simple catch. The two Imrans - Khan and Tahir - were the chief destructors, with a combined spell of 8-0-55-5. Please stay tuned for the presentation...
A game which Karachi Kings might feel, was lost at the toss. They took the gamble and chose to chase but chasing is exactly not easy here, with dew absent. They struggled for a major portion of their run chase, in spite of having wickets in hand and with Babar Azam in the middle. It was actually Chadwick Walton's drop which turned the game around a little bit and there was a flurry of boundaries to follow but eventually, it was too much to do for the Kings.
Right. Just the second win for Multan Sultans and they climb up the ladder. Well, position wise, they stay where they are, in 5th, but they have 4 points while three teams above them have 6. So nothing much to choose.
