Gurinder Sandhu to James Seymour, OUT! CAUGHT! Gurinder Sandhu strikes early and Renegades lose their first wicket. Sandhu keeps it short, at the body this time. James Seymour looks to take it on again and this time pulls it aerially. He hits it a bit squarer and picks out Daniel Sams at the mid-wicket fence with perfection. Sams doesn't make a mistake and Sydney Thunder have the start they were looking for.

Nathan McAndrew to Shaun Marsh, FOUR! Overpitched and punished. On middle and Marsh drives it past the bowler and picks up a boundary through mid on.

Nathan McAndrew to Shaun Marsh, FOUR! Almost the spectacular from Gurinder Sandhu! A full ball, around off and angling away. Shaun Marsh makes room and looks to slash it through point. The ball though flies off the outside edge and goes through the hands of Sandhu at short third man, who flew and almost held on to it. The ball races into the boundary.

Gurinder Sandhu to Aaron Finch, FOUR! Put away by Finch! Sandhu bangs it on the body but Finch moves inside the line a bit and pulls it to the fine leg fence.

Nathan McAndrew to Aaron Finch, SIX! Dropped! What a let-off that is! Right in the slot, around leg stump. Aaron Finch gets his front leg out of the way and swats it towards the deep mid-wicket fence. Chris Green over there is a bit too inside the ropes and ends up fumbling the catch over the ropes. He backtracks and gets his hands to it but it pops out. Not only is that a sitter dropped but it also goes for a maximum.

Tanveer Sangha to Shaun Marsh, OUT! CAUGHT! Tanveer Sangha has broken the partnership and the Renegades lose their second. Nicely flighted, on a nagging length and around the off stump. Shaun Marsh dances down the track and looks to lift it all the way, over the long off fence. It is a mighty hit down the ground and Marsh just doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball. He ends up lofting it straight to Alex Hales at long off.

Daniel Sams to Unmukt Chand, SIX! Sams goes for the short ball, at the body. Unmukt Chand does well to get inside the line of the ball and pulls it all the way, over the fine leg fence for a biggie. There was a man at fine leg but Chand cleared him and by some distance.

Chris Green to Aaron Finch, FOUR! Up and over! Tossed up, on off. Finch dances down the track and hits it straight back over the bowler. The fielders at long on and long off have no chance. 8 from that over.

Jason Sangha to Aaron Finch, SIX! Oh, that is mighty! In the slot and Finch has his eyes lit up. He clears the front leg and heaves it way over the long on fence. That takes them to 92 and it means that Sydney Thunder cannot finish second on the table.

Nathan McAndrew to Unmukt Chand, SIX! Chand clears the ropes! Only just though. Length ball, on off. Heaved away by Chand towards deep mid-wicket. There is a man at deep mid-wicket but he doesn't leap up. That brings up the 50-run stand.

But he doesn't get the elevation and hits it straight to long off. Green takes it with ease and Chand's valuable knock comes to an end.

Nathan McAndrew to Aaron Finch, FOUR! Poor bowling from McAndrew. With fine leg up, he bowls it short and down the leg side. Finch just tickles it fine and picks up a boundary. 18 off 16 required now.

Daniel Sams to Jonathan Merlo, OUT! Cleaned up! Is there a late twist in the tale? A slower length ball, angled into middle. Jonathan Merlo shuffles right across his stumps and looks to scoop it over short fine leg. There is just no pace on the ball and Merlo is undone by it. He misses and the ball crashes into the top of middle. Daniel Sams picks up a crucial wicket and this has made things interesting. 10 still needed off 8 balls.

Gurinder Sandhu to Sam Harper, OUT! RUN OUT! Sam Harper is a goner. This is disastrous for the Renegades as they are crumbling under pressure. On middle and leg, Harper flicks it towards short mid-wicket and just has to push for a run. Jason Sangha over there makes a brilliant stop and throws it back to the bowler. Gurinder Sandhu whips off the bails in a flash and the replay shows that Harper is short of his crease. Thunder can feel it now.

Gurinder Sandhu to Aaron Finch, OUT! GONNNEEEE! That should seal the deal for Sydney Thunder! Length ball, on off. Finch heaves it to deep mid-wicket. But he doesn't middle it! Sams runs in from the fence and takes a great low catch.

Gurinder Sandhu to Will Sutherland, SIX! SMACKED! That is out of here! Pressure? What pressure? says Will Sutherland! Just when we thought, it's all done, Sutherland comes out of nowhere and puts the Renegades back on top. A length ball, on off. Sutherland backs away and swats it well over the long on fence for a biggie. 3 required off 2 now.

Gurinder Sandhu to Cameron Boyce, OUT! TAKEN! Unreal scenes at the MCG as the Renegades' hearts are broken on the final delivery! Gurinder Sandhu, take a bow! What a final over, gave nothing away apart from that one six. This is bowled full and wide, Cameron Boyce slices it straight to Jason Sangha at point and he doesn't crumble under pressure. The catch is taken. A couple of feet left or right and the ball could have gone to the ropes but it wasn't meant to be. The man who was having probably the best day he ever had, is left on his knees and you've gotta feel for Cameron Boyce. SYDNEY THUNDER WIN BY 1 RUN!
