Right then. That's it from the coverage of this game. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have now picked up two wins in a row. But the CPL action does not end here. There is one more game lined up for you, which sees a contest between Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals at 2:30 pm local (6:30 pm GMT). Cheers!
Dwayne Bravo, the skipper of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, says it is not easy to bowl first, but he praises his bowlers for restricting the opposition batters for a low score. Goes onto say Lewis and Thomas played their natural game and he is happy for both of them
Nicholas Pooran, the skipper of Guyana Amazon Warriors, is up for a chat. He says they were short by 15-20 runs and they could've done better. Goes onto say it is a wrong combination and hopefully they will get it right soon. Finishes by saying that they need a finisher to do the job in the last few overs.
Devon Thomas is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says he just gave himself some time with the bat and tried to give Lewis the strike. Adds that Bravo has been an inspiration for him and he is very happy that he could do well for his team today.
Guyana Amazon Warriors needed early wickets but that did not happen. They decided to start with Mohammad Hafeez at the start, he kept things tight but could not take any wickets. In the middle overs, they were put under the pump by Evin Lewis and that took the game away from them. Imran Tahir got a wicket and Naveen-ul-Haq took a late wicket but it was too little and too late.
It wasn't the biggest of the targets to chase so St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were comfortable with their steady start. They started slow but made sure that they did not lose any wickets at the start. Evin Lewis teed off once he got his eye in and scored a fifty. Devon Thomas was quite steady in his approach and made sure that he saw his team through despite losing two of his partners.
A comfortable victory for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and they win their second game on the trot. They were the better of the two sides and have deserved this thoroughly. Guyana Amazon Warriors would be disappointed with the way they batted and would likely tinker with the lineup now.
