That is it from this coverage of this game! The action in the CPL continues on Tuesday as Barbados Royals take on Jamaica Tallawahs at 7 pm local (11 pm GMT). Do join us for that. Till then, adios and take care!
Faf du Plessis, the skipper of Saint Lucia Kings says that both teams were at a similar position after 12 overs and thinks that his team played well, until the last 3 overs, where they leaked a lot of runs. Says that it was difficult to score on this deck and praises Pollard as he hung in there until the end. Adds that the run rate got too high for them and the death bowling was good by Trinbago Knight Riders. On Kesrick Williams, Faf says that he did well and showed great character.
Kieron Pollard, the skipper of the Trinbago Knight Riders is the Man of the Match! He says that sometimes you need to take the initiative. Mentions that he knew if he would go early, it would make a difference. Credits Seifert for doing well. Informs that he is very pleased with the win. Says that they wanted to take their time in the middle and settle down. Tells that they knew the opposition would come hard in the Powerplay, so it was all about just managing well.
... THE PRESENTATION ...
Earlier in the day, after being inserted, Trinbago Knight Riders were very slow at the start and were struggling to score runs until the 12th over but Pollard and Seifert stitched an important partnership and ensured that the team ends up with a respectable total. 158 indeed turned out to be more than enough as Trinbago Knight Riders won the match quite easily. Please stay tuned for the presentation.
Brilliant bowling display from Trinbago Knight Riders. Udana provided his side with a great start as he removed Cornwall off his first delivery in the third over. After that, the bowlers maintained the pressure and didn't allow the opposition to score runs freely. Barring Jayden Seales, who went for a bit, everyone else was frugal and impressive. Ravi Rampaul was the pick of the lot again, with 3 wickets, of which 2 came in successive balls. The bowlers dominated this game and did the job as their team won by 27 runs.
A sorry day with the bat at the office for the Kings. Barring Andre Fletcher, no one spent enough time in the middle and hence, could never get going. Figure this - Just 3 batters entered double digits and were the only ones to face more than 10 balls in the run chase. 5 single-digit scores and everyone just kept throwing their bat at the ball, some of course, being forced to do so due to the mounting required rate. They needed someone to stage a decent stand with Fletcher but there was no one. The 'Spiceman' of course, played wonderfully and the Kings would hope that this is the start of some wonderful form for him. Remember, Melbourne Stars in the 2020-2021 Big Bash? They were riding high due to his form. Saint Lucia will hope for the same.
Trinbago Knight Riders have got their revenge as they win the repeat fixture and now move onto the second spot in the points table. 159 was always going to be a tough chase on this track and their bowlers did exceedingly well to defend it out.

Ravi Rampaul to Andre Fletcher ,SIX! That was hit with some power. Too little, too late, though. In the slot around off, length delivery, Andre Fletcher muscles this one over the long on region for a massive hit.
