Wahab Riaz, the winning captain of Deccan Gladiators, says that teams love to bowl first in this format and knowing the target is helpful. Adds that the boys are playing really well and praises Tymal Mills for his bowling. Also appreciates the efforts of Hasaranga and Russell with the ball. States that fielding is very important and they have pulled up their socks after the last match.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore is chosen for the Man of the Match award. The Englishman starts by thanking the bowlers for restricting Delhi Bulls. Tells that they have plenty of firepower in the middle order and that allows them to express themselves up front. On taking down Adil Rashid, Tom replies he has faced him a lot in the nets and it would have gone only two ways, either Adil would have got him out or he would have hit the leggie out of the park.
Earlier, it was a superb bowling show by Deccan Gladiators and their bowlers laid the foundation for this victory. After staring under pressure in the first two overs of the Powerplay, the Gladiators bounced back amazingly well and kept chipping away at the wickets. Wanindu Hasaranga, Tymal Mills and Andre Russell used their variations cleverly and were too hot to handle this evening.
All over in a flash! Deccan Gladiators have handed a 9-wicket thumping to Delhi Bulls and have ended their winning streak in a harsh manner. Chasing a below-par target, the two Toms joined forces and went hammer and tongs. Tom Kohler-Cadmore was exceptional with his big shots while Tom Banton also supported him well in a stand worth 100 runs. One of the main highlights of the chase was Kohler-Cadmore smashing Adil Rashid for four consecutive sixes. It's an evening to forget for the Bulls as they flopped in both the departments of the game and faced a hefty defeat.
