... PRESENTATION CEREMONY ...
Disappointing is the word to be used for The Chennai Braves campaign. After another under-par show with the bat, their bowlers were blown out of the water by Salt. Nuwan Pradeep went for 27 runs off the first over and half the game was killed then and there. Mark Deyal yet again proved to be the star as he picked up two quick wickets. However, no one else stepped up, and with a modest total to defend, The Chennai Braves were handed yet another defeat.
Team Abu Dhabi bowlers restricted their opponents for a modest total and their batters went out there with intent. Paul Stirling was dismissed early on and so was their talismanic skipper, Liam Livingstone. Philip Salt though had other things in mind as he was a man on a mission. Salt notched up the fastest fifty in the tournament as he ended up with 63 runs off just 20 deliveries. In the end, Gayle gave him ample support and hit a few lusty blows himself as Team Abu Dhabi went on to win with 18 balls to spare.
Team Abu Dhabi are back on track on the back of a blazing performance by Philip Salt with the bat and they have qualified for the playoffs and also go on top for the time being. The Chennai Braves have yet again been handed a thumping as they lose their eight match of the campaign.
