... PRESENTATION TIME ...
Northern Warriors did look to be in the match for a long time but there was no one who played a big innings. The top four all got into their twenties and then were sent packing. The skipper, Rovman Powell and Ross Whiteley put on a decent stand in the middle overs but the asking rate was just too high and both of them perished at the death, trying to up the ante. In the end, they lost comprehensively and are now staring down the barrel of being knocked out of the tournament.
Deccan Gladiators had enough runs on the board to defend for a team dubbed as the best bowling team. They did bowl well but it wasn't as easy as one would have thought. The skipper bowled a brilliant spell and that got them on top of proceedings. Their star man, Wanindu Hasaranga went for a bit tonight but the pacers, Rumman Raees and Andre Russell bowled really well at the backend of the innings and closed out the game well. Deccan Gladiators keep their foot on the gas and rise up to the top of the table yet again.
A fiercely contested match or so it was for most of the second innings goes the way of Deccan Gladiators and for a change, the team batting first has won a match. Northern Warriors gave it their all but ended up falling short in the end by 19 runs. With this, Deccan Gladiators also qualify for the playoffs.
