Matthew Short is the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock of 65 runs from 44 balls. He says that he stuck to his plans despite not getting off to a quick start. Adds that it was good to bat with Chris Lynn. Feels that Sydney Thunder bowled well upfront and Lynn calmed him down and allowed him to play his role. Ends by saying that he batted normally with a calm head.
Earlier in the innings, after electing to bat first Sydney Thunder started well with Alex Hales taking on the attack. It was his half-century and a good knock from Oliver Davies that gave them a good platform, but they just could not get going in the end and were restricted to 150. Their bowlers tried their best, but an excellent knock from Matthew Short meant that they were handed their third consecutive loss of the season.
Sydney Thunder started off well by picking up an early wicket, but they could not build on it. Gurinder Sandhu bowled three overs upfront giving away just ten runs. After that, they missed their lengths quite often and gave away too many boundary balls. They did manage to get Chris Lynn and Matthew Short, but it was too late as they already did the damage by then. Fazalhaq Farooqi was once again was brilliant conceding just 21 runs in his four overs. However, the pick of the bowlers was Nathan McAndrew picking up two wickets while Sandhu got one. At the innings break, it seemed like they were 15-20 runs short and that proved to be the difference in the end.
Adelaide Strikers have put on a good show with the bat here. They lost Jake Weatherald early as his struggles continued in this tournament. It was then Matthew Short and Chris Lynn who started the repair job with the former being the aggressor. They added 83 runs together before Lynn got dismissed just after the drinks break. However, Short continued his onslaught and registered a half-century as well. He could not stick around till the end, but Adam Hose, Colin de Grandhomme and Thomas Kelly made sure that there were no more scares and completed the chase with 8 balls to spare.
Adelaide Strikers has done the double over Sydney Thunder! They extend their unbeaten run and register their third win of the season. It was a great all-round performance from them in this game and in the end, it proved to be a convincing victory.

Brendan Doggett to Colin de Grandhomme ,OUT! RUN OUT! Full and outside off, Colin de Grandhomme fetches this one from outside off and carves this one towards deep cover. Wants to come back for the second but Daniel Sams there gets to the ball quickly and fires in a good throw to Matthew Gilkes who takes the bails off in a flash. The replays show that Colin de Grandhomme is short of the crease and he has to make his way back. Is there a twist in the tale here?
