Matthew Short to Matthew Gilkes, OUT! TAKEN! Adam Hose with a sharp catch and Matthew Gilkes departs for a duck! Matthew Short slows it up and bowls it shorter around off. Gilkes rocks back and looks to cut but does so from close of the body. The ball goes uppishly to the right of the man at cover-point where Hose takes a good diving catch. Just the start Adelaide Strikers were looking for.

Henry Thornton to Rilee Rossouw, OUT! TAKEN! An absolute ripper of a catch by Matthew Short and the bowler, Henry Thornton cannot even believe it. Shortish length and outside off, Rilee Rossouw looks to slap it away but gets a thick outside edge and the ball seems to fly over the man at first slip. Short is a tall man but he shows great athleticism by leaping up to his right and grabbing the ball out of thin air with his right hand. Adelaide Strikers have started brilliantly with the ball here. Jason Sangha walks in at number 4.

Henry Thornton to Jason Sangha, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Not even two overs of the chase have been bowled and Sydney Thunder are already three down! Henry Thornton goes full and wide, inviting the drive. Jason Sangha looks to thrash it through covers but doesn't move his feet and ends up reaching for it. There is a bit of away movement on offer and the ball goes off the outside edge. The keeper, Harry Nielsen dives low to his right and takes a lovely catch. Sydney Thunder is serious trouble here.

Wes Agar to Alex Hales, OUT! CAUGHT! A horror show with the bat this from Sydney Thunder and Wes Agar picks up a wicket off his very first delivery. Agar goes full and outside off first up. Alex Hales hangs deep in his crease and tries to have a little dab at it as he looks to open the face of the bat and run it fine. A poor choice of shot from Hales as he could have easily left it but the ball takes the outside edge and this time it is a simple catch for Harry Nielsen behind the sticks.

Wes Agar to Daniel Sams, OUT! BOWLED! Catastrophe for Sydney Thunder and nothing is going their way! Wes Agar bowls this on a good length and angles it down the leg side. Daniel Sams looks to tuck it fine but misses. The ball hits the underside of his thigh and goes on to hit the stumps as well. Wes Agar and Adelaide Strikers are ecstatic whereas Sydney Thunder are frustrated. They are now 5 wickets down for just 9 runs inside the 4th over, unbelievable.

Henry Thornton to Alex Ross, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! What is happening out there? Sydney Thunder lose their 6th wicket and they haven't even reached double figures! Good length around off and shaping away a touch. Alex Ross looks to defend it out but does so with hard hands. Another one that could have been left alone but Ross ends up getting an outside edge and Harry Nielsen takes it safely to his right. Henry Thornton picks up his third wicket and is all pumped up.

Wes Agar to Chris Green, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Another one bites the dust and Wes Agar has his third wicket of the game. This is full and close to the off stump. Chris Green looks to drive it through covers but gets an outside edge that is safely pouched by Harry Nielsen behind the sticks. Sydney Thunder are now 7 down for 10 runs and are far, far away from the record lowest total in Big Bash League history.

Wes Agar to Gurinder Sandhu, OUT! TAKEN! Eight down now the Thunder with not even 5 overs completed, a complete disaster! Wes Agar serves it on a good length and in that channel around off stump. The ball angles away from the left-hander and Gurinder Sandhu is forced into having a dab at it. Sandhu gets an outside edge and Matthew Short at first slip takes a comfortable catch around waist height. The lowest men's T20 total at the senior level is 21 runs, surely we won't see that being broken here, will we?
