From the list of 120 players, 91 are Indians, and 29 are overseas, with three being from associate nations

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction for the 2025 edition will take place in Bengaluru on December 15, it was announced on December 7 (Saturday). The mini auction will start at 3 PM. 

In the list of 120 players, 91 are Indians and 29 are overseas, with three being from associate nations. The auction will consist of 82 uncapped Indian players and eight uncapped overseas players. A total of 19 slots are up for grabs, with five slots reserved for overseas players.

Heather Knight, Deandra Dottin, Lauren Bell, Sneh Rana and Poonam Yadav are some of the big names who will be up for grabs. Dottin, Knight and Lizelle Lee are the only three players registered under the INR 50 lakh bracket.

According to a report published by ESPNCricinfo last week, the five franchises will get to spend INR 15 crore to build their squad, 1.5 crore more than the last auction.

WPL 2025: Full list of retained & released players ahead of auction

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will go into the auction with a purse of INR 3.25 crore. Mumbai Indians will have INR 2.65 crore, Delhi Capitals will have INR 2.5 crore, Gujarat Giants INR 4.4 crore and UP Warriorz INR 3.9 crore.

The next season will be played across three weeks in February-March 2025.
