20-year-old Arshin Kulkarni showed why there’s a lot of hype around him, as the youngster smashed a stroke-filled 146 in Maharashtra’s Buchi Babu Trophy clash against Himachal Pradesh, on August 26 (Wednesday). The all-rounder, opening the batting, smashed a stellar 146 laced with 16 fours and a massive six.
Kulkarni did not start in Maharashtra’s opening game against Chhattisgarh, where they lost by 35 runs. In the next clash, however, the all-rounder found himself a spot in the playing XI, albeit in the middle-order at the expense of Ruturaj Gaikwad. He failed in that clash, 4 off 7 with the bat while picking up just the one wicket.
In the side’s third clash of the Buchi Babu Trophy 2025, against Himachal Pradesh, Arshin got himself a promotion, opening the batting. He showcased his raw potential with an incredible display, smashing 16 fours, taking the attack to Prince Thakur, who he hit for 44 runs.
The all-rounder found boundaries all around the park, with 47.95% of his runs coming in boundaries. However, his wicket came against the run of play, when he was batting on 146 alongside CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who returned for this clash after missing the previous one.
Kulkarni didn't have the best of starts to his IPL campaign, with just nine runs across two appearances for LSG in 2024, with no appearances in the 2025 season.
