3 Gujarat Titans Players Who Could Have Been In India's Asia Cup 2025 Ahead Of Harshit Rana

Which one of these would you have picked?

India's Asia Cup 2025 squad had a couple of surprises, none more than Shubman Gill returning to the T20 International (T20I) side after a year and that too as vice-captain. While Gujarat Titans' (GT) skipper was a surprise pick, there is one more in the squad, which was met with a similar reaction, and that is fast bowler Harshit Rana.

We look at a few players from GT who could have replaced him in the squad.

Prasidh Krishna

You need a fast bowler who has proved himself in T20s in recent times? Don't look beyond Prasidh Krishna, who walked away with the purple cap at the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, picking up 25 wickets at an economy rate of 8.27. How Rana, who picked up 15 wickets at an economy rate of 10.18 and an average of nearly 30 in the same season, got picked over Prasidh remains baffling.

Sai Kishore

Another spin option? Why not? With the Asia Cup set to be played in the UAE, India could have certainly picked a genuine spin option in left-arm orthodox bowler Sai Kishore. The Tamil Nadu spinner also delivered in the IPL last season, picking up 19 wickets at 21 and at an economy rate of a little over nine. The 28-year-old could have certainly used his guile to bamboozle the batters in friendly conditions in the UAE.

Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan had one of the best seasons for a batter in the IPL, having amassed 759 runs at 54.21 to go with a strike rate of 156.17. He slammed six fifties and a century in the tournament as well, finishing as the highest run-getter in the season, ahead of Suryakumar Yadav (717) and Virat Kohli (657). Sudharsan certainly gives India more batting depth and, moreover, adds to the list of talented left-handers in the squad.
