STATS HIGHLIGHTSUthappa joins an elite list
One of the mainstays in the batting unit of Chennai Super Kings, Robin Uthappa, joined an elite list of players to become only the seventh player to feature in 200 games in the history of the Indian Premier League.

After plying his trade for various franchises in the tournament, the 36-year recorded this milestone minutes after the toss and joined his fellow team members MS Dhoni, who is top of the table with 227 games and Ravindra Jadeja, who is on fifth place with 207 matches.
Rohit's dismal outing
Things are going bad to worse for the Mumbai Indians skipper in this edition of the competition. Despite a lukewarm performance in the first six encounters, the skipper of the side looked in good touch ahead of this clash.

However, the right-handed batter was dismissed for a two-ball duck, making it the 14th instance of him being out without troubling the scorers, which is the most number of ducks in the tournament. Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu are also part of this list of players who have 13 ducks.
Shades of brilliance from Suryakumar Yadav
With the team tottering at two after losing openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav walked out to the middle in the first over of the innings.

The 31-year old scored a quickfire 32 off 21 deliveries studded with three boundaries and one six to help the five-time champions recover after early jitters. En route to this classy innings, he became the fifth player for the side to score 2000 runs in the shortest format of the game. Rohit is the leading run-scorer for the franchise with 4828 runs.
Bravos weaves his magic
One of the legends in this format, Dwayne Bravo, finished with figures of two for 36 in his quota of four overs to become the first player for the Super Kings to scalp 150 wickets in T20s.

With the wickets of Hrithik Shokeen and Daniel Sams, the 38-year old also joined Umesh Yadav to pick up 33 wickets against a single opposition.

While the fast bowler wreaked havoc against Punjab Kings, Bravo continued his sublime form against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians.
Unadkat achieves a special milestone
One of the most consistent performers in the domestic circuit, Jaydev Unadkat, endured a day to forget as he was smashed for 17 off the final over courtesy of a masterclass from MS Dhoni.

Despite the game not going in favour of the speedster, he joined an elite list of Indian pacers when he dismissed Uthappa in the ninth over.
The 30-year old became only the third Indian pacer to scalp 200 wickets in this format behind Jasprit Bumrah's 242 wickets and Bhuvneshwar Kumar's 220 dismissals.
MS Dhoni finishes off in style
With 16 runs required off the last four balls, all eyes were on MS Dhoni as he took centre stage with the game on the line. The former skipper of the national side displayed his brutal hitting and smashed a six and couple of boundaries, and a double to power the team home in a nail-biting encounter.
17 for the loss of one wicket is only the fifth-highest total successfully chased by the Super Kings in the 20th over. 21 against the Rajasthan Royals in April 2019 at Jaipur is the highest total ever chased by the Yellow army.
Mumbai Indians slump for their seventh defeat
The five-time champions continued their horrendous run in the campaign and slumped to their seventh defeat in the tournament, almost drawing curtains to their campaign in this edition.
The Rohit-Sharma led outfit created an unwanted record as they became the first team to lose their first seven matches in the tournament.
