AB de Villiers is back and how! He turned back the clock against India Champions on July 22 (Tuesday) in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 in Northampton to finish unbeaten on 63 off 30 deliveries, with three fours and four sixes punctuating his innings. In his last five balls, he slammed 6,1,6,4 and 6.
After scoring just 3 off 4 in the previous match, against the West Indies, de Villiers was itching to get a big score and started off by sweeping Piyush Chawla to the fence off the second delivery he faced.

He then took on Yusuf Pathan, Vinay Kumar and the other bowlers, and put on a vital 69-run stand for the sixth wicket to help South Africa past the 200-run mark. De Villiers got to his fifty off just 28 deliveries.
South Africa won their previous game in the competition against the West Indies via a bowl-out.
De Villiers, who is currently leading the South Africa Champions in the tournament, last played competitive cricket in 2021 when he turned up for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
He scored 5,162 runs in the tournament, the second most by an overseas player after David Warner (6,565).
