Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had only one thing going in their favour in their match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the VDCA-ACA YSR Reddy Stadium at Visakhapatnam on March 30 (Sunday) and it was the toss. Apart from that, they were on the receiving end, losing three wickets in the first three overs.
However, it all started with the run-out of Abhishek Sharma in the very first over. Travis Head played the shot near the backward point. Both the batters were not very much in-sync with each other as they hesitated. But Head was sure that he wanted to complete the run and Abhishek gave it up, depending on whether the point fielder would hit the stumps directly or not.
To his misfortune, Vipraj Nigam, who hogged headlines in his debut IPL match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), hit the stumps directly and Abhishek was left meters behind the popping crease, resulting in the run-out.
So far, SRH have won only one game and the duo of Head and Abhishek, who were in unbelievable form last season, have had only one good partnership: 45 in the first match against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
In the next two matches, their partnership scores read 15 off 13 balls against LSG and 11 off 13 in this game.
