After Test, ODI Return, Brendan Taylor Is Back For Sri Lanka T20Is
The former Zimbabwe captain last played a T20I in 2021
Former Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor has returned to the T20 International (T20I) fold for their three-match series against Sri Lanka, returning to the format for the first time since 2021. Taylor recently made his Test and One-Day International (ODI) return.
Taylor was banned for three and a half years in 2022 for failing to report a corrupt approach. On his Test return against New Zealand in Bulawayo, he scored 44 and 7, while in the two ODIs against Sri Lanka that followed, he was dismissed for a duck in the first game and followed that up with 20 as the hosts lost both games.
Along with Taylor, Sean Williams is set to play in his first T20I in a year, having last turned up for his country in the format in May 2021. Brad Evans and Tadiwanashe Marumani also return to the squad, while Newman Nyamhuri, Wessly Madhevere, Vincent Masekesa and Tafadzwa Tsiga have been left out of the squad that was part of the tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
The T20Is will be played on September 3,6 and 7 in Harare.
