Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been way below par in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, but their skipper Ajinkya Rahane has been quite impressive with the bat.
In Match 53 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 4 (Sunday), the 36-year-old scored 30 off 24 deliveries, studded with one four and two sixes, and broke a couple of records during his stay in the middle.
Rahane now has 18 sixes in the IPL 2025 - the most he has hit in a single season. 14 of those sixes have come in the powerplay, only behind RR’s Yashasvi Jaiswal (18).

During his knock, Rahane also went past Chris Gayle’s tally of 4965 runs in the IPL. Rahane now has 4969 runs in 181 innings at an average of 30.48 and a strike rate of 124.7.
