Rahane Has An IPL Wicket? 3 Unlikely Players Who Have Taken A Wicket In IPL
Rahane took a wicket in the only over he bowled in T20 cricket
The Indian Premier League (IPL), over the years, has been witness to a lot of bizarre happenings, such as Praveen Kumar opening the batting, Rohit Sharma taking a hat-trick with the ball and whatnot.
But did you know that things have been so weird in this league that the most UNEXPECTED of batters have ended up taking a wicket? Well, stick around to find out.
Unlikely Players Who Have Taken A Wicket In The IPL
Ajinkya Rahane
In his 271-match T20 career, Ajinkya Rahane has bowled six balls. All six balls happened to be in the IPL, and he ended up taking a wicket with one of those deliveries. Would you believe it?
Indeed, it happened back in IPL 2009 when Rahane was playing for Mumbai Indians. He was thrown the ball by skipper Sachin Tendulkar, and sure enough, Rahane took a wicket. He clean-bowled Aussie batter Luke Pomersbach with a looped-up offie

Hanuma Vihari
What Rahane can do, Hanuma Vihari can do better. Apparently.
Back in IPL 2013, a 19-year-old Vihari took the new ball for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and DISMISSED CHRIS GAYLE in his very first over. Gayle was at the very peak of his powers and was dismissed for 1 off 2 balls.
It was, incidentally, the second-ever game of Vihari’s IPL career and his first-ever over in the competition. It would turn out to be the only wicket of Vihari’s IPL career.
Adam Gilchrist
Adam Gilchrist’s T20 stats as a bowler: 102 games, 1 ball bowled, 1 wicket taken.
That one wicket came in Gilchrist’s final ever IPL game against Mumbai Indians in Dharamshala in IPL 2013.
With Punjab having already sealed the win, Gilchrist cheekily brought himself on to bowl. Harbhajan Singh was on strike, and sure enough, he wanted to whack Gilly out of the ground. That ended up going horribly wrong for Bhaji, though, as he held out to Gurkeerat Singh Mann out in the deep.
