The Australian team management has made big changes in their T20I squad, which is currently engaged in a bilateral series in India.
Steven Smith and Adama Zampa have already flown back to Australia prior to the third T20I in Guwahati, and they will be joined by Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis and Seam Abbott, who will be returning home on December 29.
They have been replaced by Ben Dwarshius, Chris Green, Ben McDermott and Josh Philippe. Green, who will make his debut (if he gets to play) and McDermott have already reached India and are available for selection in the third T20I.
After these changes, Travis Head remains the only member of the World Cup-winning squad to stay in India for the ongoing 5-match T20I series, which India is leading by a 2-0 margin at the moment.
It's notable that the Australian men's team has been on the road for quite some time now, and with the Big Bash League starting soon, many of the Australian players will be back playing cricket again in a week.
Australia (updated) squad: Matthew Wade (c), Aaron Hardie, Jason Behrendorff, Tim David, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Chris Green, Travis Head, Ben McDermott, Josh Philippe, Tanveer Sangha, Matt Short, Kane Richardson.
