Pakistan trio of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi have not been picked for the T20 International (T20I) series against Bangladesh. Salman Agha will continue to lead the side in the upcoming three-match series, starting July 20.
According to reports, new Pakistan coach Mike Hesson had already informed the three players that they will not be picked for the T20I series and have instead been asked to focus on the World Test Championship (WTC) and One-Day Internationals (ODI).
While Babar and Rizwan are yet to play a T20I this year, Shaheen last featured for the Men in Green against New Zealand in March.
Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan have not been picked as they continue to recover from injuries. Mohammad Nawaz, Sufyan Moqim and Salman Mirza have instead been picked.
"The Men’s National Selection Committee has announced the 15-member squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Salman Ali Agha will continue to lead the side in the T20Is," the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement.
"The three-match T20Is series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played from 20 to 24 July at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. The squad for the white-ball series against West Indies will be announced in due course."
The three T20Is against Bangladesh will be played on July 20, 22 and 24 in Mirpur.
