With less than a year to go to the 2026 T20 World Cup, the T20I careers of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan seem to be over as the duo have once again been left out, this time for the T20I series away in West Indies.
Pakistan have played 11 T20Is in 2025 but both Babar and Rizwan have not featured in any of these games, with the selectors instead opting for younger, more aggressive batters. But unlike the experienced duo, Shaheen Shah Afridi has returned to the T20I side after not playing the recently-concluded T20Is against Bangladesh that the Men in Green lost 2-1.
However, both Babar and Rizwan have been picked for three-match ODI series that will be played after the T20Is.
Fast bowler Naseem Shah, like Babar and Rizwan, is part of only the ODI series while opening batter Sahibzada Farhan has been picked just for the T20Is. Left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, has been included in both squads.
All three T20Is will be played in Lauderhill in Florida, while the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago will host the ODIs.
