England all-rounder Ben Stokes on Monday provided a positive update about his recovery from a finger injury as he posted a picture of himself holding the bat. The 2019 World Cup winner had two screws and scar tissue removed from his fractured left index finger, an injury he suffered while playing in the IPL in April.
Stokes posted a photo on his social media accounts showing him holding a bat with his bandaged finger.
"12th April broken finger. 11th October first time since breaking being able to get it round my handle."

After leading England to the limited-overs series win against Pakistan in July, Stokes announced that he is taking an indefinite break from to focus on his mental health. Stokes cut short his recovery to lead the a side that was assembled at the last minute after the initial 17-player squad had to be quarantined due to multiple covid-19 cases.
The star all-rounder retained his England central contract on Friday, but was omitted from England's Ashes squad on Sunday.
