> Marcus Stoinis is filling big shoes for the Melbourne Stars as the pace all-rounder is leading the side for a full season for the first time
> Batting in the middle order, he has managed to get starts but has struggled to convert them. It's played a part in the Stars starting the season off with three consecutive defeats
Josh Inglis (Perth Scorchers and Punjab Kings)

> Josh Inglis missed out the tournament opener against Stars due to international duty. But he played a crucial role in the second game, scoring 49 runs of 35 balls batting at No.4 after the Scorchers lost two quick wickets
> Inglis, however, did not fire in the second clash against Renegades, falling for 4 off the bowling of Will Sutherland
> As he his part of the Test squad against India for the 4th and 5th Test, the right-hander is expected to miss the next four games for the Scorchers
Adam Zampa (Melbourne Renegades and Sunrisers Hyderabad)

> Adam Zampa has not had the best of the starts in BBL 14 as he picked only two wickets in the first three games
> However, he's still maintained an E.R of 7.24 and that's nicely complemented the Renegades quicks Tom Rogers and Will Sutherland, who have taken 13 wickets between them
> With the next few games coming up at Sydney where spin is likely to be aided, Zampa can be expected to be amongst the wickets

> New Chennai Super Kings recruit Jamie Overton has managed to start off BBL 14 on a high, continuing his good form from the previous season with both bat and ball
> Batting as a finisher at #6, Overton has been terrific in the final overs, striking at 192.11 in the 16-20 phase. He's been the standout middle-order batter in the competition thus far
> With the ball as well, Overton has been spectacular, picking up five wickets in the three games, putting pressure on the opposition in the final five overs. 3 of his 5 wickets have come at the death, where he's maintained an E.R of 7.5.
Nathan Ellis (Hobart Hurricanes and Chennai Super Kings)

> Nathan Ellis has started of his BBL 14 with three wickets in first two games. He dismissed young sensation Jacob Bethell and aggressor Josh Brown in the game against Renegades, where Hurricanes unsuccessfully defended 74
> In the same clash, Ellis showcased his batting ability too, smashing 35 (29) to save the Hurricanes from embarrassment. They were reeling at 40/8 at one point
Jacob Bethell (Melbourne Renegades and Royal Challengers Bengaluru)
3(6) vs Hurricanes | 30(22) vs Scorchers
> Jacob Bethell did not have a flying start on BBL debut as the young English sensation got out early to Nathan Ellis in his first appearance, which came against Hobart Hurricanes
> However, he picked up pace in the second game, scoring 30 runs off just 22 balls on a sluggish Docklands surface. In his short stay, Bethell hammered two trademark sixes

> Sherfane Rutherford has had a quiet start to his first BBL campaign as the West Indies left-hander has got out to single digit scores twice in as many innings
Xavier Bartlett (Brisbane Heat and Punjab Kings)

> Xavier Bartlett has shone in the first two games of BBL 14, starting the season off with four wickets in the first week
> Bartlett began the season with a 3-fer against Stars, and, even though he went for runs against Strikers, he got a crucial early breakthrough, dismissing D'Arcy Short
> The highest wicket taker of last year's BBL will be hoping to have another solid season which can help him strengthen his place in the Australia setup and make a case to play a few games for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025
