Cameron Green isn’t going to come for cheap, as the all-rounder has yet again shown his crazy form with a 13-ball 35 against South Africa in the first T20I, on August 10 (Sunday).
The giant all-rounder smashed 205 runs in the five-match series against West Indies, where he averaged 68.33, at a strike rate of 164.00. Given that he will be one of the biggest names at the IPL 2026 mini auction, who are the teams that are well placed to get the all-rounder?
3 Teams Well Placed To Get Cameron Green in IPL 2026
If Rajasthan Royals let go of their current captain, Sanju Samson, they will be one of the best-placed teams to get Cameron Green at the IPL 2026 mini auction, given their purse.
Considering they let go of Samson (18 crore), Shimron Hetmyer (11 crore), Maheesh Theekshana (4.4 crore), Wanindu Hasaranga (5.25 crore) and Tushar Deshpande (6.5 crore), the Royals will have a huge purse of INR 47.15 crore that they can splash in the mini auction.
In that case, the Royals might break the bank for Green, who fits like a glove in their middle-order.
KKR will be a big challenge for both RR and CSK, considering the purse they could free up by just releasing one player - Venkatesh Iyer (INR 23.75 crore). The franchise had a disastrous IPL 2025, finishing in the bottom half of the IPL table after a successful IPL 2024.
Hence, they could let go of Iyer (23.75), Quinton de Kock (3.6), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (2), Anrich Nortje (6.5), Rovman Powell (1.5), Moeen Ali (2) and Ramandeep Singh (4) to get Green.
CSK too could challenge the Royals, as after a disastrous IPL 2025, they will be looking to add more firepower to their squad. Who better than Green to fix their middle-order issues? CSK will let go of a lot of their players after an underwhelming IPL 2025.
Ravichandran Ashwin (9.75) could top the list, with Devon Conway (6.25), Rachin Ravindra (4), Rahul Tripathi (3.4), Gurjapneet Singh (2.2), Deepak Hooda (1.7), Vijay Shankar (1.2), Mukesh Choudhary (0.3), Jamie Overton (1.5) and Nathan Ellis (2) all most likely to be released. It frees up INR 32.3 crore, making them hot favourites for the Australian all-rounder.
