Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Virat Kohli has set an all-time record at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, becoming the all-time highest run-getter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Kohli entered the clash with 1053 runs to his name against CSK, and needed five runs to go past Shikhar Dhawan (1057). He had an extremely sluggish start to the clash, amassing just 4 runs off his first 10 balls, but eventually went past Dhawan on his 11th ball, taking a single off Noor Ahmad.
Kohli and Dhawan are the only two batters in IPL history to have amassed over 1,000 runs against CSK in the IPL. If we are to include Champions League T20 as well (CT20), however, then Dhawan (1105) is still the highest run-getter against CSK overall.
