Deepak Chahar bowled a brilliant spell in the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad. He bowled four overs on the trot for 2/12. The opening pacer stifled SRH, and they could score only 24/4 in the powerplay, which is the worst ever by a team in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League.
Chahar took the new ball in the first over itself, and bowled an excellent first over to Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, where he gave only a solitary run. SRH lost their Head in the next over to Trent Boult’s left-arm pace, and in the next over, Ishan Kishan also departed in what was a really bizarre dismissal.
Chahar didn’t just stop there, but also got Nitish Kumar Reddy caught in the fifth over. Chahar didn’t give a single boundary in the powerplay, and along with Boult, ensured that the big-hitting SRH batting lineup is handicapped in the first six overs itself. Their scorecard read 24/4 at the end of the powerplay, as Chahar’s record high brought SRH to their lowest in the powerplay this season.
