Axar Patel’s Delhi Capitals (DC) are off to an unbelievable start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. This is the first time DC have won their first four games of a season, and they remain the only unbeaten side in the IPL 2025.
KL Rahul scored 93* off 53 deliveries as DC defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by six wickets at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 10 (Thursday). The last time DC beat RCB in Bengaluru was way back in 2019.
Phil Salt (37 off 17) and Virat Kohli (22 off 14) got RCB off to a fiery start, adding 61 runs in 3.5 overs. However, that’s when a miscommunication resulted in Salt getting run-out, and DC took full control of the game.
Wrist-spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam scalped two wickets each and only conceded 35 runs across eight overs. Between over 4-18, RCB could only score 74 runs at a rate of 4.9 and lost seven wickets. Tim David did hit 37* off 20 but RCB ended up with a slightly below-par total of 163/7.
In reply, DC lost Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abishek Porel and Axar with just 58 runs on the board, but that’s when Rahul and Tristan Stubbs (23-ball 38*) joined hands and took the game away from RCB. The two added unbeaten 111 runs for the fifth wicket and finished the job in 17.5 overs.
DC will next take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in a home game on April 13 (Sunday).
