Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have strengthened their batting by adding Devon Conway to their playing 11 in Match 17 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Chepauk on April 5 (Saturday).
The left-hander from New Zealand replaced out-of-form Rahul Tripathi.
There were also doubts over CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s availability and MS Dhoni returning as skipper, but the former is fit and walked out for the toss against Axar Patel’s DC.
Chennai have also brought in left-arm seamer Mukesh Choudhary, with Jamie Overton being the one to miss out.
For DC, Faf du Plessis is out because of an injury, and Sameer Rizvi makes his return. DC captain Axar won the toss and opted to bat first against CSK.
Conway last featured in the IPL during the 2023 final against Gujarat Titans (GT). He missed the entire IPL 2024 because of an injury.
Delhi have won both their games so far in the IPL 2025, while CSK have lost their last two fixtures after defeating Mumbai Indians (MI) in their first match.
