You know it is a Test series in England when there’s one eye over the weather report. India kick off their five-match red-ball tour against England on June 20 (Friday), at the Headingley Cricket Stadium in Leeds.
It is the start of a new era for the Indian team under Shubman Gill’s captaincy. Gill would hope that his Indian side break almost a two decade-long drought in England, with India’s last Test series win in England coming back in 2007.
But will their preparations be hampered by the torrid weather in England?
While rain is certainly around the corner over five days of red-ball cricket at the Headingley Cricket Stadium in Leeds, day one seems clear.
According to Accuweather, one of the most trustworthy weather apps in the UK, day one of the Headingley Test is going to be a warm affair. With a maximum temperature of 30 Degrees Celsius, expect day one to be very warm, unlike England.
However, there’s a 5% probability of precipitation around the venue, and a 45% cloud cover.
