Allrounder Faheem Ashraf has been ruled out of Pakistan's second Test against Australia, starting on Saturday (March 12) in Karachi, after testing positive for Covid-19.
Faheem, who missed the opening Test in Rawalpindi due to a hamstring injury, arrived with the home squad and was forced into five-day isolation after returning a positive test.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said if required, a replacement will be named soon. The Australian team also reached Karachi amidst heavy security and was driven straight from the airport to the hotel.
Both teams will have their full practice sessions at the National Stadium on Thursday.
Right-arm fast bowlers Hasan Ali (abductor strain) and Haris Rauf (Covid-19) also didn't feature in the first Test, which ended in a draw, with only 14 wickets falling in the entire game.
