Fantasy: Quality top-order batters, pacers way to go at DY Patil

Here are a few tips that could help you create your fantasy XI for Match 9 of WPL 2023 between Gujarat Giants and Delhi Capitals

Gujarat Giants (GG) take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 9 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on Saturday (March 11). While GG got off the mark in their previous game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), DC, on the other hand, succumbed to their first defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI).

The Giants will be boosted by the availability of South Africa batter Laura Wolvaardt for this game, while the Meg Lanning-led side will look to put their defeat quickly behind them and get back to winning ways against GG.

Ground details

The fast bowlers have been dominant in every department at the DY Patil Stadium in WPL 2023 so far. They have picked up close to 59% of the wickets and, doing so at an economy rate of 7.8, average of 20.8 and have struck once every 16.1 deliveries. The spinners, on the other hand, have conceded at 8.4 an over, striking once every 29.7 runs and 21.3 deliveries apart.

It could be good to have a balanced side tilted just slightly towards the pacers. Don’t forget to stock your side with quality top-order batters as well. They will certainly have an advantage batting first given that the average score here this season has been 173 compared to 129 batting second.
