He might not be having the best of the season with the bat in hand, but Jake Fraser-McGurk or JFM, as he is fondly called, has nothing but praise for his Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Axar Patel.
“He's so calm and relaxed at any point in time. We love playing under Axar, and we think he's one of the best players in our team that we can follow," the Australian said in the pre-match press conference on April 26 (Saturday) ahead of DC’s clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 27 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
“He always says keep smiling to everyone, not just me. He's one of those guys, it feels like you're talking to one of your best friends instead of the captain. So he's been awesome,” added the right-handed batter.
JFM has not been in great form this season and, as a result, found himself out of the playing 11 after failing in six consecutive games, scoring just 55 runs in them. The 23-year-old hopes to get his form back and get back into the starting XI.
"I'd love to have some more runs next to my name, but that's the way cricket is sometimes. You go through highs and lows and I think the IPL have seen it all in both years for me personally,” he said.
