Football Star Reveals Virat Kohli Was "Sending Him His Scores..."
Kohli's next assignment will be the three-match ODI series against Australia in October
Indian football star Sunil Chhetri has revealed that close friend and cricket superstar Virat Kohli recently shared his fitness test scores with him, offering a glimpse into his relentless work ethic that continues to inspire athletes across sports. According to Dainik Jagran, Kohli recently underwent a fitness test in London.
“A few days back, he [Kohli] was sending me his scores of one of the tests he was doing. It is so addictive, and it is so good to know these kinds of people. On your bad days when you feel a bit lethargic, you see them and think, ‘let’s go’,” Chhetri said on The Desi PL Podcast.
“When you are at the top, everyone wants to be a Virat Kohli or [Cristiano] Ronaldo and for these two to keep their place is unbelievable."
The Indian skipper highlighted how Kohli’s drive mirrors that of Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. Drawing comparisons between the two icons, Chhetri pointed to their insatiable hunger for excellence.
“I don’t know personally, Ronaldo. I have watched him, studied him. I know Virat [Kohli]. The one common thing about these two is that they are just not happy with what they have already achieved.
“I tried in my whatever way to inculcate the same thing because once when you start getting into that circle where you start thinking about what you have done, good or bad, then you are not on the same track that you want to be.”
Kohli, who has retired from T20Is and Tests, remains committed to playing the 2027 ODI World Cup. His next assignment will be the three-match ODI series against Australia in October, with a possible outing in the one-day series against Australia A before the main tour.
